Yeah - we got colourful on our faces today! 05/16/2011
"Art was so awesome today. We were finishing our colouring faces and after that we moved on to our second picture. We did a similar process. I really liked dying my face today" Thoughts from Julian
"Art - Self portraits is hard but it really is fun. It captures not only your face but your expressions and how you are feeling. The colours I added really nice colours which were abstract and my face now looks over the top! I love what I have done today - I finished and it's fun learning!" Thoughts from Andy
"Art makes me feel happy because I can express myself through drawing or painting. I really liked self portraits because you can make yourself look really fun, weird, silly or even like an alien!" Thoughts from Lucia
Quotes of the day:
"Do we have to make our eyeballs colourful too?"
"I am going to have snowflakes for hair!"
"I am going to grow a really long beard, right down to here..."

Mono printing 05/11/2011
During Art today we traced a photo of ourselves onto carbon paper. We then traced over that image with chalk and then coloured away with oil pastels. This piece is going to turn out really well because the effect is going to be interesting with the black dye and oil pastel. - Kaiya
Quotes of the day:
"It looks like you have 3 eyes"
"Wow, she really has a mono brow!" (Frida Kahlo)
"I want a red tongue!"
"I have an afro. I never realised I had an afro"

Setting is where the story takes place 05/06/2011
Grade one students worked together to create a setting. Limited to one color of geometric shapes, students were extremely creative in how they worked together to create a setting.
